Big Impact in the Big Apple

It’s not every day you see Luther Hodges Scholars from every graduating class gathered around the same table. But on Saturday, March 28, that’s exactly what happened in New York City.

As Luther Hodges Scholars grows, so does something just as important as the program itself—our community. Our alumni are not an “after” to the scholar experience; they are a vital, living extension of it. They are cross-sector leaders shaping industries, communities, and conversations across the country. Staying connected to them, and to one another, is core to who we are and how we lead.

That’s why we invest in alumni engagement and host regional gatherings like this one. These moments create space for something powerful: honest conversations, shared perspectives, and the kind of peer connection that sustains people as they navigate complex careers and lives. They also strengthen the LHS network as a resource.  The program is a resource that current scholars, fellow alumni, and partners can draw on for insight, opportunity, and support.

In the West Village, 19 alumni, spanning the Classes of 2019 through 2025, came together for brunch. Every cohort was represented. That alone says something about the strength of this community.

What unfolded felt just as meaningful. Conversations moved easily from life updates to career pivots, from navigating New York to reflecting on the role Luther Hodges Scholars continues to play in their lives. New connections formed alongside old ones, and the throughline was clear: this is a network that shows up for each other.

Moments like this remind us that LHS is not just a program, it’s a lifelong community. And as our alumni continue to lead across sectors, we remain committed to creating spaces that bring them back together, deepen their connections, and extend their impact.

We’re grateful for this community and energized for what’s ahead.
