During my spring break, I had the privilege of securing funding from the Luther Hodges Scholars Program, which allowed me to delve into the public and social sector landscape alongside Deloitte, my post-grad employer. It was an enriching experience, as I had the opportunity to visit Deloitte’s offices and engage in insightful discussions with professionals within this realm. Additionally, I had the chance to immerse myself in a couple of case studies, gaining valuable insights into the complexities of real-world challenges.
Furthermore, I was fortunate to accompany a team on a client site visit for a pro bono project, offering me firsthand exposure to the practical application of consulting solutions in addressing societal issues. This excursion also played a pivotal role in my personal decision-making process, solidifying my choice of Washington, D.C. as my desired post-graduate destination. Witnessing the abundance of opportunities and the energy of the city left an impression on me, making me excited about the potential impact I could make in the field.
Engaging with seasoned professionals and witnessing impactful initiatives in action served to reinforce my commitment to effecting positive change in society. The experience not only broadened my horizons but also fueled my passion for addressing social issues with strategic and innovative solutions. Overall, this experience served as a catalyst for my future aspirations, and helped me start building a network in my field of interest.
