In November, the Luther Hodges Scholars Advisory Council gathered in-person for the annual fall meeting. This meeting provides invaluable guidance and feedback from business and community leaders who serve on the council, which supports continued growth and development of the program. The session began with member introductions and council acknowledgements that celebrated the efforts of current, outgoing, and new members. The council then heard from Dr. Shimul Melwani, Associate Dean of the Undergraduate Business Program, on trends in business education and updates at Kenan-Flagler Business School.
Dr. Kim Allen, Executive Director of Luther Hodges Scholars, then provided programmatic updates which included a summary of the Class of 2028 application process, findings from the curriculum review of our three courses, and an overview of scholar engagement tracking. This led to a time of discussion on these areas that provided valuable insights moving forward. The session concluded with a conversation identifying the recommended priorities for the 2025-2030 strategic plan.
This council meeting was incredibly beneficial, as it provided a time to celebrate achievements, reflect on areas of improvement, and identify opportunities to enhance impact. We are grateful to our advisory council members for their time, insights, and continued investment in the success of the program!
