Dear Friends,
We’ve had a great spring, filled with new learnings, new friendships, and new experiences. Though the university has been beset by a number of challenges this spring, together we’re continuing to make Carolina a safe and inspiring place to learn and grow.
We are grateful for the many speakers, presenters, alumni, mentors, internship hosts and other friends who give generously of their time and talents to our scholars, some are featured in this edition of News in Review. Others will be highlighted in our upcoming Annual Review.
This issue of News in Review is a recap of program activity from late fall through the spring. Enjoy learning more about our new cross-sector internship initiative, and of course, spring graduation.
We give special thanks to long-time program supporter and friend, Mike Norona. Mike is a mentor, cheerleader, and financial supporter of our work. This year, his and Helen’s generosity directly supports our new Cross-Sector Internship initiative, making possible the travel, lodging, and meal costs for summer stipends for two scholars. You, your wife, and family rock, Mike!
Lastly, congratulations to our 2024 graduates for completing their studies with open hearts and bright eyes toward the future.
