Virginia (Abigale) Hawkins ’22 is from Wilmington, North Carolina. As a business administration and music double major, her professional interests include microfinance, social enterprise and sustainable operations. Abigale decided to join the Kenan Scholars program to build mindful relationships, cultivate her purpose, and discover innovative solutions to the world’s toughest problems.

In addition to being a Kenan Scholar, Abigale is also a Buckley Public Service Scholar, involved with Carolina Women in Business, a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and on the leadership team of Musical Empowerment. Abigale’s hobbies include the arts, running, singing, community service and reading. After college, Abigale hopes to pursue a career with a socially responsible business that employs sustainable operations, fair trade practices, and the skills of artisans around the globe.
