Scholars are invited to attend “Private Capital, Public Markets, and the Path Forward: A Conversation with Eli Gross of Morgan Stanley,” a dynamic fireside chat with Eli Gross, managing director and global head of investment banking at Morgan Stanley. The talk is offered through the Dean’s Speaker Series, hosted by the Kenan Institute in partnership with UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and Dean Mary Margaret Frank.
The hourlong event will take place at 1 PM EST Friday, March 7, in the Wilson Library Pleasants Family Assembly Room, with lunch provided.
Gross will explore the trends shaping the global economy and the investment banking industry, from the future of private and public markets to the impacts of technology, labor market imbalances and geopolitical risks. This conversation offers a unique opportunity to learn from a leading expert about the strategies, challenges and opportunities defining the future of finance and the workforce.
Gross is a managing director of Morgan Stanley and has been global head of investment banking since 2022. He serves on the firm’s management committee, Institutional Securities Group operating committee, and risk committee. Gross was previously the global head of transportation, logistics and infrastructure investment banking.
He joined Morgan Stanley in 1998 as an associate in mergers and acquisitions and served in a variety of roles with increasing responsibility within the department. He then joined the Transportation, Logistics and Infrastructure Investment Banking Group in 2001 and was named global head in 2012.
Gross received his MBA and bachelor’s degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
