Briya Kenchen

Briya Kenchen ’28 is from Durham, NC. As a Business Administration and Public Policy major, Briya’s professional interests include business law, private equity, and strategies that balance profitability, legal compliance, and social impact. Briya decided to become a Luther Hodges Scholar because the program aligns with her commitment to address societal problems through curiosity, research, innovation, and cross-sector collaboration. It provides opportunities to strengthen research skills and engage with issues that affect her and her communities, creating an ideal environment to develop knowledge and leadership for meaningful impact.

In addition to being a Luther Hodges Scholar, Briya is also a Parr Center for Ethics Scholar, a founding member and executive of the Parr Center for Ethics Business Pod, a member of the Black Pre-Law Association, and the Minority Business Student Alliance. Briya’s hobbies include staying active, traveling, trying new foods, going to church, and spending time with family and friends.
