Catherine Gaither Sugg ’21 is from Raleigh, North Carolina. She is a peace, war, and defense major with minors in business administration and Slavic Languages & Cultures. Catherine was drawn to the Kenan Scholars program because it bridges the public and private sectors and provides unique opportunities for students to connect with leaders across sectors.

For the past five years, Catherine has served as chair of her Raleigh voting precinct. She currently leads the Speaker Series program at UNC’s Institute of Politics. After graduation, Catherine will work as a consultant for Guidehouse in Washington, DC. Additionally, Catherine is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and works at the Chapel Hill-Carrboro YMCA.
