Maruthi Vemula ’28 is from Huntersville, NC. As a Computer Science and Business Administration double major with a minor in Statistics, Maruthi’s professional interests include finance, data analytics, and economic equity. Maruthi decided to become a Luther Hodges Scholar because the program reflects his vision of using business, data, and cross-sector collaboration to create meaningful and equitable impact. He values the program’s emphasis on leadership development, research training, and applied work with community, policy, and business partners.
In addition to being a Luther Hodges Scholar, Maruthi is an Accelerated Research Scholar, an analyst for Carolina Investment Group, a dancer with UNC Bhangra Elite, and the Director of Time2Care, a nonprofit providing tutoring to underprivileged children in India. Maruthi’s hobbies include playing pickleball and golf, collecting watches, and watching films.
