Riya Behari ’27 is from San Francisco, California. As an Economics and English & Comparative Literature double major, Riya’s professional interests include economic policy, impact investing, nonprofit consulting, and international financial economic research. Riya decided to become a Luther Hodges Scholar as the program embodies her commitment to economic and community development through business.

In addition to being a Luther Hodges Scholar, Riya serves as a Board Member for the Community, Equity, and Inclusion Board, an M&A Analyst for the Carolina Investment Group, and a business analyst for Consult Your Community. Additionally, she conducts research on international financial institutions with the UNC Global Studies Department, and is a member of Delta Sigma Pi. Riya’s hobbies include international literature, Pilates, seeing live music, and curating sets as a DJ of WXYC Chapel Hill.
